Share: "Friday Five" Love List

The past week has been full of family fun and relaxation. Here's some of what I've appreciated over the past week:

  • I loved enjoying the best of family togetherness over the Fourth of July: working, playing, talking and just hanging out.
  • I love the good ol' summertime feeling of not knowing for sure the date much less the day of the week.
  • I love daydreaming about how to fix up our basement for my future office/studio space. This week, inspiration comes from the book Where Women Create: Book of Inspiration by Jo Packham and Jenny Doh.
  • I loved catching up on Twitter and finding interesting goodies to tweet or retweet, like Juan Williams's upcoming visit with Minnesota Public Radio's Kerri Miller, science news about Saturn's big storm and polar bears being related to brown bears in Ireland, and innovative teachers using Angry Birds to teach physics.
  • I loved the heart-bursting bittersweetness of sharing grief for my grandpa this week. A World War II Veteran, Grandpa took America's freedoms seriously, and his first absence during our family's traditional Fourth of July weekend at the lake was, at times, surreal. When we got back home, his absence really seemed to hit 8-year-old Allison, pictured here with her older sister and Gramps on Allison's first birthday. He sure loved us grandkids and great-grandkids!

Happy Friday. As always, I'd love to hear what's on your love list!
