52 Birds: Week 3
Explore: What to do when paths diverge?

Share: Monday Music

These three songs have been toward the top of my list for a few weeks already, and I'm overdue in sharing them.

Just last week, Nada Surf released its latest album, The Stars Are Indifferent to Astronomy. Visit the band's web site to receive a free download of the track, "When I Was Young."

Back a couple months ago, I heard this song pretty regularly on The Current. At first I didn't like the song's repetitious lyrics, but the way Rachael Yamagata's voice builds through the track lends "Starlight" a load of emotion.

Lastly, I can't get enough of "Ashes and Fire" by Ryan Adams. My favorite lyrics: "Her eyes were indigo/the cats were all calico ..." Aside from the soothing acoustics and vocals, I also tend to be fond of songs with this tempo.
